Last Wednesday evening, we brought this vision to life with our “Cocktails and Canapés” tenant appreciation event, a casual gathering designed to help residents unwind, mingle, and strengthen the bonds that make our building feel like family.

Catered by the talented Ross Derrick of Broken Anchor Cafe and Catering as well as Derrick’s Steakhouse on Ellis Street (with ties to Big White as well), the event featured delicious bites and refreshing drinks under the open sky. Around 30 tenants joined us for a beautiful night out, filled with laughter, conversations, and even a few hugs for the team—proof that the spirit of the evening hit just the right note. While some guests may have indulged a little extra in the cocktails, the relaxed vibe ensured everyone had a fantastic time.

We kept things simple and inviting: tenants received a simple text via our easy messaging system with an e-invite, encouraging them to RSVP and drop by at no cost. The goal? To create opportunities for neighbors to meet, especially for newcomers who might feel a bit awkward walking into a group. Our team was on hand with name tags and warm introductions—often starting with our resident social butterfly, Jareth, who knows everyone—to make sure no one felt out of place. Whether you’re a long-time resident or just settling in, events like this help weave the fabric of our community, promoting harmony and a sense of belonging.
